Here’s a note from loyal reader Kevin, who is trying to help out the students at Evergreen Community Charter School. Read on, please:

I was writing to see if you might be interested in helping Evergreen’s eighth grade students with a project we have begun. It’s an oral history project where our students are trained to collect and record stories from people in our community who have been shaped by the landscape and communities of Appalachia. We are seeking out folks whose life is influenced by Appalachia in the following ways…
* Food and Agriculture
* Culture: Art, Music and Literature
* Transportation and Energy
Additionally, I made/posted a video on YouTube seeking out nominations. Take a look!
