Screen shot 2013-05-01 at 10.04.54 AMHere are a couple of tidbits from the Eat Scene blog of my Asheville Scene colleague Mackensy Lunsford:

On the new food truck:

Wondering where the Pink Taco Truck went? We found it!

Johnson and Wales grad and former Poogan’s Porch chef Jeremiah Jackson bought it with his wife and painted it green. It’s now called Farm to Fender, and it serves a healthy brand of Southern fare (plus tacos, of course).

The menu also includes a full-scale breakfast (served starting at 7 a.m.) with dishes like gluten-free waffles and build-your-own omelets, stuffed with house-smoked shrimp or salmon and assorted veggies. Lunch includes salads, a local goat cheese BLT and Southern-themed specials.

On Biscuit Head, the new restaurant coming to the former Tolliver’s space on Haywood Road:

Biscuit Head is set to open on May 15, according to chef and co-owner Jason Roy. the restaurant will be open Mon-Sun, 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 733 Haywood Rd.

The restaurant’s menu is ready to go, too. It’s full of house-made biscuits, gravies and local meats and produce, as well as some lighter far like steel-cut oats and house-made granola.

Oh, and there’s a bacon of the day.

Click over to read all the goodness.

Dusty, click over to Mackensy’s blog, where she highlights the menu. I don’t think she lists the full menu.
