Here’s the Craigslist ad seeking a new chef for Boca, a popular downtown Asheville restaurant on Lexington Avenue. I found the ad via Mountain Xpress reporter Caitlin Byrd, who tweeted it.

The current chef is Stewart Lyon, whose Boca team is in the semi-finals of the WNC Chef’s Challenge, a contest to crown the best chef in Western North Carolina:

Hello All

I am the Chef at Boca (stewart) and I am leaving so I need to find someone who wants to be head of this cool small restaurant. I have a good crew in place who all know how to work together and can do all of the menu like a machine. What we need is someone to maintain its awesomeness and bring on some more of your own awesomeness too. Keeping an eye on labor costs and food costs is also very important and experience here is needed (not a classroom). We are Latin American rooted but spins on American and french classics are cool. Specials everyday with the best product you can get and sell and make money is a day in day out thing… Keeping the food fun and interesting staying with some trends is a good idea. Please no jack asses that dont understand basics and technique that jump right to the newest cook book and copy it. Culinary school is certainly not needed and honestly if you did go school you better be one bad ass to many lame asses come out of those things. You would do a stage for at least two nights and cook for the owners and my self. This is a night job from maybe 2pm to about 11pm 5 to 6 days a week. Weekends holidays of course… We make Family meal for all everyday… Wait staff is nice, pretty, good, and friendly. Speaking Spanish would help but not necessary. You would get paid any where from 12-15/hr depending on what you can do. Setting up interviews ASAP. My last day is August 26 so I will be around to train and inform. Thank you Asheville Cooks
