Cherub Charu: great with child?

Rumors are flying around Ashvegas that Charu could be pregnant.

Charu is a friendly on-air personality at WLOS. She is a little cherub. Her fairly even-handed reports are a staple of the 11 pm show.

Engaged, she’s sporting a rock that would put J-Lo to shame. What a sparkler! It’s absolutely huge! So far, whether or not she’s got a bun in the oven is just an unconfirmed rumor. But her tummy did have a certain roundness to it tonight as she reported a chemical spill on I-40. Maybe it’s just too much of her own vegetarian lasagne.

Charu is from Georgia, as is Candace Little (former Miss Georgia). Charu is good people.

But this could be just the latest in a series of nuptials and baby birthings at the local Sinclair affiliate. Scott Wickersham and Candace wed recently, with a little one most certainly on the way. Victoria Dunkle had a baby not long ago. And Susan Mundy got knocked up about a year ago.

It all follows a long tradition started by Diva Darcel. She’s got a veritable brood.

Speaking of a long tradition, I’ve got my own – watching the ups and downs of the WLOS personalities. Here’s a short list, which I’ll expound upon in later posts:

Bed burning Karen Coulon. This was one hot story when Coulon piled some coals in her boyfriend’s bed and lit the fire, which ended up burning down a house. Coulon went on trial, and in a masterful bit of acting, walked away scott-free.

Boisterous Bostic. Ken Bostic was the grumpiest weather guy I’ve ever seen. A complete opposite of the milquetoasts WLOS has had lately, including Gary the Pilot and Mike Bicycle Bettis and, most recently, CabanaBoy Quevas.

The Mimi Page tragedy. Hard to believe it’s been five years since she died. I still don’t understand what went wrong with her care that fateful early morning five years ago when she was on her way to work. But Mimi was at a dead stop in the middle of Malfunction Junction when a tractor trailer mowed her and her little car down. Very sad.

Still more. There was Susan (she still does commercials) and Mary the Redhead and Smooth Brutha Dave and Potter and Frank Cracker and Seltzer and Pompilio and Mike Morgan and Stan (I’m gone and I’m back – forever) E-Lo (Emily Lopez) and Jennifer Hill (longest fingers I’ve ever seen – married Michael Moule, city traffic guy) and I could go on and on and on.
