The Charlotte Bobcats are holding their training camp at UNC Asheville next month, and there’s a practice open to the public on Oct. 4. Earlier this year, the The Lady Cats, the professional dance team of the Bobcats, held a photo shoot around Western North Carolina.  Want more photos of the cheerleaders? Meantime, details here about the Bobcats open practice:

The Charlotte Bobcats and UNC Asheville will be hosting the Charlotte Bobcats Fan Fest and Open Practice from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 4th. This event is free and open to the public, and will be held at the Wilma M. Sherrill Center and Kimmel Arena, 227 Campus Drive, Asheville, N.C. 28804. VIP Front Court Packages are available for purchase.

The Fan Fest will be held from 5-5:45 pm on the plaza outside the main entrance to the Sherrill Center. Activities include face painting, interactive games, live music, Bobcats merchandise for sale, ticket plan information, appearances by the Lady Cats Dance Team, and Rufus, the Charlotte Bobcats mascot. UNC Asheville will also have the Rocky mascot and Rocky I.

From 6-7 p.m., there will be an open practice with the Charlotte Bobcats. No autograph session is planned.

Here’s a little more about the Bobcats and what they have to say about Kimmel Arena:

Bobcats Sports & Entertainment and University of North Carolina Asheville officials announced today that the Charlotte Bobcats will hold their 2012 Training Camp at Kimmel Arena on the campus of UNC Asheville.

Kimmel Arena, which opened in November 2011, is home to the UNC Asheville Bulldogs men’s and women’s basketball teams. The arena is located in the Wilma M. Sherrill Center and has a capacity of over 3,200 for basketball. The multipurpose facility has hosted over 100,000 guests since its opening, and offers the modern amenities fans, players, and coaches expect, including wide concourses with views of the court, large video boards, intimate and comfortable seating and outstanding training facilities.
