Celebrity Chef Stephanie Izard, the only woman to win Bravo’s Top Chef cooking show, is visiting Asheville and apparently loving our food. She tweeted about eating at The Admiral and Early Girl. Izard also visited the Biltmore Estate.

Izard tweets:

Trip to ashville not long enough, happy only a 1.5 hr flight away! Had shrimp n grits for first time in south! Yum!

admiral NC (not chi strip club) was one of best meals I had in recent memory. Seriously tasty. Want more pork chop. Tmrw. When I’m not full

Seat at bar, perfect!!! So excited!

If we can’t get in to the recommended admiral tonight, where to in ashville for dinner?

Those tweets were from Tuesday. No word on where Izard plans to dine on Wednesday. Izard, who hails from Chicago, opened Girl & The Goat there two years ago. The eatery has since received a ton of press. From Wiki:

With the “Top Chef” win under her belt, Izard assembled a team with Kevin Boehm and Rob Katz of the BOKA Restaurant Group and the trio opened Girl & The Goat in Chicago’s West Loop in summer of 2010. The restaurant has received local and national press, including four out of five stars from Time Out Chicago and three out of four from Chicago Tribune.[citation needed] It was also the subject of Saveur magazine’s first-ever restaurant review, which dubbed Girl & the Goat “America’s Best New Restaurant.” Girl & the Goat was also nominated for the 2011 James Beard Best New Restaurant Award, right around the time Stephanie was named one of Food & Wine magazine’s Best New Chefs.

Big thanks to loyal reader Mackensy for the heads-up on this!
