Join us on March 13th for a 3 course prix-fixe meal and silent auction to benefit our wonderful bar manager, Jason Crosby.

As many of you have heard, Jason was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (stage 4). As of last week, he is no longer able to work. Jason has a 4 year old daughter, and he and his wife are expecting a second child in May. He is currently receiving care through the local VA Hospital, but may leave Asheville to seek more advanced treatments and to be closer to extended family.

Many vendors have generously donated their products to enable us to pass along the maximum contribution to Jason & his family. In addition, we will host a silent auction featuring the work of local RAD artists, our Pink Dog Creative neighbors and a handful of our past Third Thursday featured artists. Original paintings, pottery, jewelry, furniture and high quality prints will be for sale. Other auction items include, exclusive bottles of wine, gift certificates from Sensibilities & Wink, tickets to an upcoming Blind Pig Supper Club, and much much more. The silent auction will take place in the Turquoise Building gallery (adjacent to the restaurant) from 5-10 p.m

Dinner is $35/person, not including drinks, tax and gratuity. We’ll have smoked pig from The Chop Shop, desserts from Blue Door Bakery & vegetarian options will be available. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling: 828.225.3497

Bartenders around town are also helping out. Mackensy Lunsford of the Asheville Scene reports:

Next week, city bartenders hope to ease the pain with a bar-crawl of sorts they’re calling “Painkiller for a Pancreas.”

Spearheaded by Cynthia Turner from The Imperial Life, local bartenders will donate 100 percent of the tips from their shifts to the Crosby family.

“We’re just so incredibly touched by everyone’s thoughtfulness and compassion,” said Ashley, 29, who is seven months pregnant with the couple’s second daughter. Their first daughter, Giana, is 4 years old.

Jason needs to see Dr. Sardi at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore. He is one of the top surgeons in the world who uses the HIPEC to treat advanced abdominal cancers. He saved my mother’s life last year!!! She too had Stage 4 but of the appendix. She is currently cancer free for almost a year! This month marks her one year anniversary post surgery. Please get this information to his family. He at the very least needs to get a consult with this man, our angel!!!
