silver_armadillo_2013Here’s the note from loyal Ashvegas reader Jen. I’d heard this recently from another loyal Ashvegas reader named Jen and just failed to post. Here you go:

Many a mineral enthusiast will be saddened to learn that the Silver Armadillo in the Westgate Shopping Center next to Earthfare is going out of business and will be closed by the end of the year.

I was just in there today and currently all rocks and beads are 40% off and the clerk told me they will keep having more sales until everything is gone. There are some lovely mineral specimens in there so if someone you know would like a chunk of quartz, citrine, amethyst or agate as a holiday gift then get over there and help these kind folks reduce their inventory. I’ve been shopping there for as long as I can remember and it will be sad to see them go. Best wishes to them in their new ventures for 2014.

Omg! I’m heart broken. I live an hour away, but would make the trech. I went on to look for a rare tiny owl bead I got there, and they are gone? When did they close! Is here still time?

Long gone, I’m afraid. Anyone know when Frugal Backpacker is actually opening?

Disappointing. I’ve shopped there for years. Best wishes to the owner & staff.
