Talent Jam Asheville is set to return from 6-9 p.m. on March 21 at Isis Restaurant and Music Hall. The event brings together local entrepreneurs, startups, professional freelancers, angel investors and others. The Entrepreneur-in-Residence Program hosts this event. More:

The WNC Kauffman Foundation Entrepreneur-in-Residence Program presents the Talent Jam, Asheville, a business-focused mash-up of “speed dating, job fair and a networking event.” It’s a modern take on the classic job fair, where both companies and local workers will present one-minute pitches of their needs or talents followed by casual networking, all while enjoying great local food and drink.

The location for Talent Jam, Asheville will be at ISIS Restaurant and Music Hall on Monday, March 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. This event is open to any business looking for fresh talent, and any talented worker looking for the right company. A one-minute pitch to the audience costs $25, with proceeds benefitting two local charities.

Registration is required and pitch opportunities are very limited. Registration for pitches will open on February 16th at 9am and will close on March 18th at 11:59 pm.

-Girls on the Run is hiring a program director. It’s a full-time, salaried job.

Kroger is looking at buying The Fresh Market, according to WRAL.

-The movie Genius, which traces the story of editor Max Perkins‘ relationship with Asheville author Thomas Wolfe and others, will get its first screening on Feb. 16 at the Berlin Film Festival. EW has a Genius video clip here.

-Auditions for Anam Cara Theatre Company’s production of Faust Foutu will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 21. Possible callbacks are set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 22. More:

Walk-ins will be accepted, but priority will be given to those with appointments. Auditions will consist of sides from the script, ensemble-work, and basic singing. Please wear clothes you can move in and be prepared to list your availability from Feb. 24 through May 2. We are seeking an ensemble of 10, five of which will have singing parts. -The Montford Park Players, North Carolina’s longest running Shakespeare Festival, has announced that auditions for its first production of the 2016 season, Dark Lady of the Sonnets, will be held from 1-6 p.m. on Feb. 20 and 21, in the Green Room at the Hazel Robinson Amphitheatre. More:

There are roles for four actors in this classic play: William Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth I, Beefeater andDark Lady. All roles will be cast without regard to gender, race, or age. Every actor is encouraged to attend during these audition times. Meet farmers face-to-face and learn about their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs. Or, bring your checkbook and sign up on the spot! CSA subscribers receive a weekly box (or share) of fresh locally grown produce and/or meats and other farm-fresh items. Participating farms all have pick-up locations in Asheville and Buncombe County. Groups are encouraged to attend, as many farms will deliver direct to churches and workplaces if numbers allow.
