Some of what’s going around:

-New West Asheville bike shop: I’ve been reporting for a few weeks now that a new bike shop is coming to Haywood Road. Now there’s at least a name I saw recently: The Haywood Cyclery, I believe.

-Hole, the doughnut shop: The owners of the Tin Can Pizzeria food truck have apparently sold their truck and are planning to open a new doughnut shop in West Asheville:

As for the pizza girls, Kim and Caroline…… Their next adventure is a doughnut shop. HOLE – doughnuts and hot coffee located at 168 Haywood rd. West Asheville
Look for us this spring. We will keep you posted. We are very excited!

Thanks to loyal reader @BlogAsheville for the tip.

-Analog Dharma in the RAD: All I have is what @BlogAsheville showed me on Twitter from @AnalogDharma:

A new kind of Dharma Center coming to Asheville, NC, in the RAD

-Digable paint job: Asheville artist Gabriel Shaffer says he’s going to be repainting the former Digable Pizza building on Haywood Road. Background on Digable changes here.

-Snow next week? Some weather geeks are starting to talk about a storm brewing next week that could bring Western North Carolina its first measurable snowfall of the sason. Keep your eyes on this one.

-Holiday tune: Underhill Rose has released a new Christmas tune, One Time a Year. From the-dispatch.com:

Cruz Contreras of The Black Lillies returns as the producer for the Eleanor Underhill written song, which was recorded at Echo Mountain Recording Studio in Asheville. Underhill is featured on the song playing banjo and lead vocals, along with Underhill Rose members Molly Rose on guitar and harmony vocals and Salley Williamson on upright bass and harmony. Contreras adds his musical talents on piano and sits in for a mandolin solo while his The Black Lillies’ bandmate, Bowman Townsend, joins the collaboration on drums.

-New e-magazine: Asheville photo Micah Mackenzie says on FB that he’s releasing a new online magazine in January. It’s called 1Gender. More as I get it.

-Schedule your drinking: Here’s a new website that looks like it has potential, though it is still under construction: ashevillebeercalendar.com.
