Here’s more of what’s going around, including news that the N.C. Supreme Court will hold two special sessions in Asheville in May. Here we go:

-The North Carolina Supreme Court will hold two special sessions in Asheville on May 16 in honor of the court’s 200th anniversary.

-Saturday is Record Store Day. Check Harvest Records in West Asheville for some fun stuff.

-The Connect Beyond the Page event/festival, which explores the intersection of art and social change, is happening all weekend in Asheville.

-NPR’s host for All Songs Considered, Bob Boilen,

-The Songsmith Gathering is Saturday in Brevard, featuring a stellar line-up of songwriters.

Earth Day in Asheville features a full slate of events.

-The building at 52 Broadway St. in downtown Asheville recently sold for $4.75 million. The three-story building that’s currently home to an antique shop on the ground floor and residential lofts above was sold by owners Otto Hauser and Craig Culbertson to 52 For Good LLC and John J. Campbell. The building, once a home to retail shops and car dealerships, will be the new home of an art gallery, the Asheville Citizen-Times reports.

-The Project SEARCH Asheville Reverse Job Fair is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 9 at the DoubleTree Biltmore Hotel at 115 Hendersonville Road. The primary objective of Project SEARCH is to secure competitive employment for young adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

-Asheville is Beer City USA, so why not learn to cook with beer? Cottage Cooking Asheville is offering the class. From the website: This Swiss Beer Bread is so easy to make and won’t last long. Enjoy it with our Belgian-style meatballs with beer bechamel and chocolate mousse with – you guessed it – beer-macerated berries! All classes start at $75 per person and they’re BYOB. Check it.

-The electro-music Asheville festival will be held May 4-5 at White Horse Black Mountain in Black Mountain. From the press release: “electro-music Asheville brings some of the world’s finest electronic and  experimental musicians to the mountains of Western North Carolina. They
will be joined by local artists for two days of compelling live music  and innovative technology. Musical styles cover a broad spectrum,  guaranteed to be creative and original. Live video art will accompany the concerts.”
