–Green Side Up Foundation, which raises money to help Mission Hospital serve young cancer patients, is sponsoring an event encouraging people to dine out in Asheville to help raise money. From Green Side Up’s event page on Facebook:

-Farm Burger is planning a second location in Asheville, on the south side. Also, Eater.com says Farm Burger is expanding to Hunstville, Ala.
-Lookout Observatory at UNC Asheville recently celebrated its one-year anniversary. From the press release:
Since opening in October 2014 through the end of the academic year in June 2015, the observatory welcomed more than 1,500 visitors from schools, civic groups, and the general public. It also was integrated into the astronomy minor curriculum at UNC Asheville, resulting in a number of successful student projects. Students imaged galaxies representing different Hubble classifications, turned their results from imaging the Andromeda Galaxy into a mosaic, and imaged the moon at different phases to calculate the height of impact craters and other lunar features.
-A karmic astrologer in Asheville is offering two rooms for rent to visitors wanting to “better understand their past, present and how it affects their future through holistic/karmic astrology,” according to a press releast for Asheville Astrolodge. Yvonne Haarsma says she “has the ability to see a general tendency in past lives and reveals where people may have gotten stuck in certain patterns that are no longer useful. She helps them to break those patterns.”
-Oskar Blues sent 50,000 cans of water to help out Flint, Mich., reports the Denver Post.
It seems odd that someone would hold a fundraiser for an enormously wealthy, tax-free monopoly, number one landholder, and criminal enterprise.
