baby_names_asheville_2014Here’s a quick look at the top names for newborns in Buncombe County in 2014. As you can see, Olivia is tops for girls, while William is tops for boys. More to come. Drew Reisinger, Buncombe County’s register of deeds, put together the list after I requested the information. You can see last year’s list here. And here’s the list of all the baby names recorded in Buncombe County in 2014. 2014 Baby Names Buncombe

While Olivia was also tops for 2013, the names Hannah and Madison were in the top 10 last year, but didn’t make the list this year. Paisley and Anna hit the top 10 this past year, but were not in the top 10 for 2013. Again, here’s last year’s list for more comparison.

How does this year’s list compare to last year’s list? While William is tops for both years, the names Elijah, Jacob, Matthew and Daniel were top 10 in 2013 but not for this past year. Gabriel and Logan and Carter rise into the top 10 for 2014. Here’s last year’s list for more comparisons.

Is that last boy’s name a typo or are there really 12 kids with the name Eeaston with two Es? Feel free to delete this comment if it’s a typo.
