The Asheville Yoga Festival 2019, celebrating its third year in downtown under the ownership of co-directors Amanda Hale and Sara LaStella, is set for July 25-28. The lineup includes more than 45 world-renowned presenters, artists, and musicians, as well as more than 70 offerings, including free activities that will be open to the public, according to a press release. More:

-This year’s Thursday immersion experiences can be purchased as a one-day pass and include a diverse range from goat yoga on Franny’s Farm to Yoga and Recovery for people in 12-step programs.

-The Bhakti Stage and the Mountain Air Market will again be in Pack Square Park and open to the public, featuring free live music and unique local and national health & wellness vendors.

-A new addition this year is a yoga mat design contest sponsored by Yoloha Yoga. Artists were encouraged to submit their designs for an official Asheville Yoga Festival cork yoga mat, produced by Yoloha. Designs should incorporate this year’s festival theme, “a place for magic, compassionate activism & adventure.”

-“Our mission continues to be creating a diverse experience where all are welcome,” said Festival Co-Director Sara La Stella. “Furthering that mission this year, we are offering a scholarship program, opening more events to the public free of charge, and incorporating relevant discussions around inclusivity, the environment and the future of yoga. We’re very proud of what has been created thus far, and how it continues to evolve.”

-Free community yoga will take place daily in Pack Square Park, along with free panel discussions led by several notable presenters. The Self Care Sanctuary on McGuire Green will feature a variety of health and wellness practitioners, available by appointment.

-The live music begins downtown on Thursday night at The Venue with Sean Johnson and the Wild Lotus Band’s Kickoff Kirtan. Saturday night is the EPIC Celebration Party at the Salvage Station, with a performance on the outdoor stage from MC YOGI and DJ Drez. Tickets for both shows are available to both festival goers and the public and can be purchased through the Asheville Yoga Festival website.

-Festival locations include Pack Square Park, The Capital Club, OM Sanctuary, Franny’s Farm, Asheville Social Hall, Masonic Temple, AC Marriott, and The Venue.

-One-day passes for Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday are now available. In addition, the festival is offering a special ticket discount for local residents (must live in Buncombe County) with the discount code “golocal2019.” Tickets can be purchased through the AYF website, www.ashevilleyogafestival.com.
