My  friend Jonathon Flaum is starting up a new milk delivery business in Asheville called Farm to Home Milk.

Back in 2005, I was business editor at the Asheville Citizen-Times and I signed on Jonathon to be a columnist for the newspaper. An accomplished author who wrote about leadership, Jonathon wrote “Creativity at Work” and “Meaning at Work” columns that were thoughtful and powerful. He’s been writing about finding your passion at work long before it became fashionable.

Now Jonathon is starting a new venture, and certainly finding new meaning in this new work. From his website, farmtohomemilk.com:

Farm to Home Milk is about the days my grandfather lived. Local and fresh food brought to you weekly on ice in your own personal dairy box left outside your front door. Having this daily quality made Pop’s life feel solid and assured. It was a simple kind of consistency that a child could recognize and feel. The impact that time spent with my grandfather had on my life is beyond what I can say. Honoring those moments requires me to do something in accord with that spirit of solidity, simplicity, and constancy. Farm to Home Milk is the most basic expression of that doing. Farm to Home Milk’s products are all produced by sustainable farming practices with a delivery method as dependable and personal as my grandfather recalled with such joy. Thanks for allowing my family to carry the legacy of simplicity and consistency forward.

The delivery area:

We currently deliver in the Asheville area: serving zip codes 28801, 28802, 28803, 28804, 28805, 28806, 28715, and 28787. If you live out of our current route area you may take delivery at your workplace.

Check out his website for all the info. Congratulations Jonathon!
