An Asheville gym owner and former coach of the men’s U.S. Olympic gymnastics team will make another appearance on the popular NBC show American Ninja Warrior on Monday night. Family, friends and fans of the show plan to gather at Buffalo Wild Wing on Tunnel Road at 7:30 p.m. to cheer on Miles Avery, who also plans on attending.

Avery is the owner of OSEGA Gymnastics in Swannanoa. Avery had a star-studded career as a college gymnast at Ohio State University. He was a member of the coaching staff for four men’s U.S. Olympic gymnastics team, and he has worked as a personal coach to several Olympians, including gymnast Paul Hamm, the most successful U.S. male gymnast ever.

Hamm will also be competing on the same episode of American Ninja Warrior Monday night with Avery. The show was filmed in Philadelphia, Avery’s home town.

Hamm competed on the Japanese version of the show back in 2005. Avery competed on the show last year. At the time Avery was 56, which made him one of the oldest contestants to ever appear on the show.

The show features athletes making their way across a physically challenging course of obstacles as they seek to score the best time. The contestants are also fighting for a spot in the finals, which will be held in Las Vegas this year. The top prize is $1 million.

Here’s the Facebook event page for Monday night’s American Ninja Warrior watch party:

This Monday, June 27, our own Miles Avery is competing on American Ninja Warrior. To celebrate, we are hosting a watch party at Buffalo Wild Wings on Tunnel Road, with the Ninja Warrior himself! So come out to support and meet Miles, as we watch him face the Ninja Warrior arena once again!
We ask that you RSVP if you plan to come, because we need to give Buffalo Wild Wings a rough head count by THIS SATURDAY, June 25. If you are RSVPing for a group or family, PLEASE comment a number of guests on this page, so we can have an accurate number for them!
We look forward to seeing everyone there supporting Miles in just another one of his wonderful achievements!
