Asheville musicians come together for Feed the Need benefit show

The inaugural Feed the Need benefit concert featuring some of Asheville’s top musical talent will be held beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Isis Music Hall in West Asheville.

Asheville music lover Gregory Scott has been providing the energy behind getting together this great show. It will benefit MANNA FoodBank.

“Through my efforts in booking, promotion, and just going out to see shows, I’ve been lucky in getting to know a lot of amazing people in the Asheville music community,” Scott tells me via email. “It was no surprise these artists were so willing to donate their time and talent for this event.”

“I can’t think of anything much better than music or any art form being used, to not only bring people together, but to support a great cause,” he writes.

The featured musicians are: Leeda “LYRIC” Jones; Jack Victor (of Midnight Snack); CaroMia (of Siamese Sound Club and Goldie and the Screamers); Juan Holladay (of the Secret B-Sides); Stephanie Morgan (of Pink Mercury); David Earl Tomlinson ; Ashley Heath; and Stevie Lee Combs.

There will be spoken word poets between music sets. The event will be hosted by Barbie Angell, a poet who will also be performing alongside poets Justin Blackburn and Roberto Hess.

An “Ultimate Music Lovers” Prize Package will be raffled off with tickets/gift certificates to several venues around town.
