Asheville Humane Society offers $1K for information about baby goat in dumpster

UPDATE 8:40 p.m.: According to Emma Wright and WLOS, “Wilbur” has died.

A good samaritan rescued a baby goat in West Asheville today after hearing its cries from a dumpster. The goat was found in a trash bag, and according to the Humane Society, it suffers from undetermined injuries.

The animal, a male goat about two months old, is in critical condition at the Appalachian Animal Hospital in Weaverville according to recent reports on Facebook. It isn’t known if the goat will survive.

The Asheville Humane Society is offering $1000 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who dumped the animal in a dumpster.

Facebook reports say the goat was found in a dumpster in Regent Park Plaza off Regent Park Blvd. off of Patton Avenue.
