Karen Chavez of the Asheville Citizen-Times reports:

The 14 people with Western North Carolina addresses listed on the Boston Marathon registration site have been accounted for as either having finished the race, or as safe after having been pulled from the race after the explosions.

Danielle Deines, a runner from Asheville who is now living in New Mexico, had already finished the race when the explosions happened.

She was in the medical tent being treated for leg cramps and difficulty walking. But when she saw the injured people being brought into the tent, she stayed to help.

“A nurse came over and we heard the explosion. We said we were sure it’s nothing, let’s just keep doing what we’re doing,” she said. “Then the second one went off and we looked out of the tent and we could see people were running back toward finish line. We knew something was wrong.

Our thoughts go out to the everyone who was affected. Prayers.
