Isa’s Bistro will open on Monday on the corner of Battery Park Avenue and Haywood Street.

The Haywood Park Hotel space, the longtime home of the Flying Frog Cafe and then Restaurant Solace (which closed last year), is revamped and modern, with a sleek dining room downstairs. The upper dining room is wide open and bright with a curving upstairs bar and plenty of room between tables.

The Fragas, Tony and Isa, have incorporated an adjacent storefront and a previously-separate dining area into their open upstairs floor plan. Still, the restaurant will only seat approximately 74 in the dining room with 16 at the bar and another 30 on the patio, leaving plenty of elbow room.

Check out Mackensy’s blog for a peek at the menu. A tidbit:

Lunch

Herb-roasted chicken sandwich, farm greens kimchi, lemon aioli $8

Asparagus and sugar snap pea salad, pancetta vinaigrette $8

Chilled cold-water oysters on the half-shell, lemon chili ice $12

Anson Mills farro risotto, wild mushrooms, truffled English peas $9
