Asheville celebrity spotting: Seinfeld at ‘Spy’, Wilson at Wedge

Catching up on a couple of celebrity spottings around Asheville.

First up: Comedian Jerry Seinfeld reportedly attended a private screening of the Melissa McCarthy/Jude Law comedy Spy at Carmike Theatres in Asheville. Seinfeld was in Asheville this past weekend for a Saturday night show at the U.S. Cellular Center. Seinfeld is going strong, and if you haven’t checked out his online Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, you should. It’s really fun.

A couple of weeks ago, actor Owen Wilson was spotted hanging out at Wedge Brewing. Word on the street is that Wilson, who spent several weeks in Asheville last summer while filming Masterminds, really digs Asheville. Masterminds, which also stars Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig and Jason Sudekis, opens Aug. 19.
