mamrie_hart_2013Here’s a quick look at the Asheville celebrity sightings of the past few days. There will be more to come at tonight’s big birthday bash for the Rev. Billy Graham. But for now, there’s this:

Sarah Palin was spotted arriving at the Grove Park Inn on Wednesday night. The former vice presidential candidate is one of the special guests at the Graham birthday event tonight at the Grove Park Inn. Donald Trump and Rupert Murdoch are also on the list for tonight’s event.

Cornel West, who gave a public lecture at UNC Asheville on Wednesday night, was seen lunching at 12 Bones South. The activist, author and philosopher packed the house at UNCA. About 3,000 people came out to listen to West, to be a bit more exact.

Mamrie Hart was spotted out and about in downtown Asheville recently. Hart is a comedian and actress who graduated from UNC Chapel Hill.

More to come.

Pretty sure he lives in a cardboard box on Patton. He appears nightly outside the Noodle Shop playing his djembe.

I wonder if Sarah Palin will be able to see Mexico from her hotel room. Almost as scary as being able to see Russia from your house!

You do realize that she never said that, right?

Dr. West gave a great and inspirational speech last night. There weren’t 5,000 people in attendance, the capacity of Kimmel Arena for speaking events is 3,800, and there were a few empty seats. Still, what an amazing turnout, considering that most local media outlets never mentioned that he was coming.
