A couple of braniacs were in town over the weekend. First, Peter Sagal, the host of NPR’s Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me, was in town to speak at Warren Wilson College’s commencement. Sagal also dined at Table, drank at Imperial Life and took a Bugati ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

From Sagal on Twitter:

Just arm-wrestled Henri Matisse’s great-granddaughter, a dressage rider, at The Imperial Life. Because Asheville.

Fabulous meal at @tableasheville. Had a conversation with bartenders about Vesper recipes so arch and pretentious I should be shot.

In my speech at @WWCasheville, I quoted Kerouac, @katyperry, @BradBirdA113 and Neil Young. I have no idea what this means.gladwell_2014

On Sunday, Asheville artist Gabriel Shaffer spotted Canadian journalist and author Malcolm Gladwell at Waking Life Espresso in West Asheville. No word on what Gladwell was doing in town. His new book, David and Goliath, has been getting some great press lately. Gladwell has been a staff writer at the The New Yorker since 1996.

Peter took a DUCATI out for a ride, not a bugati.
Also, Mr. Gladwell dined at table on Sunday evening.
It seems my dreams have come true to host the elite of the liberal media in my hometown & my restaurant & bar!
