The Asheville Area Arts Council’s Indigo Color Ball is going to be a good time. Here’s the press release:

The Asheville Area Arts Council is proud to announce the 2017 Indigo Color Ball on September 9, 2017 presented by AC Hotel. Over 600 patrons of the arts will don festive attire in various shades of indigo as they dash from one party to the next in what is sure to be deemed Asheville’s party of the year.

The Indigo Ball will take place in 5 different venues across downtown Asheville – each themed and decorated lavishly and accompanied with a diverse line-up of local entertainment. Trolley service will be provided by Gray Line Trolley of Asheville on a first come, first serve basis.

The Indigo Ball Schedule:

6:00 – 7:30 pm Out of the Blue Patron’s Party
The Refinery Creator Space | 207 Coxe Ave
Hosted by Joseph Pearson

The ball begins at the Asheville Area Arts Council’s The Refinery Creator Space (207 Coxe Ave) at a party exclusive to those that splurge on the $125 Patron’s ticket. At the party, dubbed “Out of the Blue” and hosted by local artist, Joseph Pearson, the space will be transformed into the cosmic heavens. Guests will be greeted in the lobby with Dark Rhythm Gin cocktails provided by Oak and Grist and beer provided by Oskar Blues.

Down the star clad hall and into the event space, guests will groove to the musical stylings of the Justin Ray Trio, an interactive performance by Asheville Contemporary Dance, and snack on passed hors d’oeuvres provided by Jargon Restaurant. Award winning body painter Ren Allen will be live body painting.

7:30 – 9:30 pm Tokyo Twilight pre-parties at various locations
81 Broadway
Hosted by Heather Smith, Michael Parker, and Jean-Paul and Angela Lausell

Traditional east meets the diverse west in this colorful event full of movement, sound, and intrigue. Dance through the futuristic orient bathed in light. Relish the iconic surroundings representing a culture steeped richly in tradition, yet newly alive and electric.

Projection art by Asheville Darkroom and performances by Asheville Aerial Arts will be set to the party music of DJ Phantom Pantone in one of Asheville’s newest event spaces in the RISC Building. Award winning body painter Ren Allen will be live painting models. Guests will be greeted with Sake by Ben’s Tune Up and Asian bites by Margeaux’s Catering. Absolut cocktails and beer by Hi-Wire Brewing will also be featured at the bar.

7:30 – 9:30 pm Flamenco Nights
AC Hotel | 10 Broadway
Hosted by Letitia McKibbon, Rick Ramsey, and Kathleen Hutchinson

“Flamenco Nights” at Asheville’s new AC Hotel is a Spanish-themed party with all of the energy of the great Andalusian dance known for colorful costumes, erotic movements, stamping of feet and clapping of hands. Its execution is brilliant, noisy, and oh so passionate! Join Letitia McKibbon, Rick Ramsey and Kathleen Hutchinson and ‘Flamenco the Night Away.’

Guests will be treated to exciting street-level entertainment upon arriving to the AC Hotel by renowned guitarist Tim Doyle. From there guests will move upstairs to enjoy savory and sweet Spanish tapas and roving bands of Latin dancers all while sipping on the signature Absolut vodka cocktail – The Andalusian Passion! Flamenco band, The Juan Benevides Quartet, will provide the music. Beer will be provided by Oskar Blues Brewery. Food provided by Capella on 9.

7:30 – 9:30 pm Under the Sea
Lexington Glassworks | 81 Lexington Ave

Beer will be provided by Sierra Nevada.

9:30 pm – midnight Indigo Ball at the Orange Peel

As all the other parties wrap up around town, the main ball will just be getting started. Attendees of all the pre-parties will finally merge into one big, final bash. The Orange Peel will be transformed with art installations and enormous projections into a mystical, futuristic, and nearly alien land where anything is possible and the entertainment defies the imagination.

The evening will be bursting with performances that are as unique as the arts community we live in. Aerialists will suspend from the ceiling as the main stage sees performances by Nimbus, DJ M.P. Pride, an acro yoga duo, and then a very special collaborative performance by Stephanie Morgan and Marley Carroll. Desserts will be provided by Marijane Bowman and French Broad Chocolates. Local artists Lara Nguyen and Kimi Leger will be painting live. Their work and other items will be offered as part of the Silent Auction. Guests will also have a chance to purchase commemorative Indigo Ball photos from Indulge Images for $25. $5 of every purchase will support the Asheville Area Arts Council.

Slip into the Climax Whiskey Lounge for a whiskey cocktail and a more subdued environment to recharge and rejoin the party. Beer will be provided by Hi-Wire Brewing, Oskar Blues, and Sierra Nevada.
