anthropologie_2_2013Anthropologie is continuing to eye the S&W building on Patton Avenue in downtown Asheville. I reported a couple of weeks ago that Anthropologie was negotiating with the owners of the building to open a new retail store in the building.

Brett Krueger,  a partner with MRK Investments Group which owns the building, said Tuesday those negotiations are ongoing.

In the meantime, word on the street is that Anthropologie is also considering the Kress Emporium building, also located on Patton Avenue in downtown Asheville. The prospect of Anthropologie looking at that location has some artists wondering what the future might be of the Kress Emporium art gallery, which leases out spaces to local artists.

More as I get it.

I am the owner of the Kress Emporium Jason and if you need any info please feel free to call me rather than report untruths so that the local artisans that rent space from me dont feel concerned about their future here

I am one of the Kress artisans. I have checked with the owner of Kress Emporium and the “rumor” of Kress Emporium is not true. A simple phone call would shave verified this fact.

Davyne, I made a “simple” phone call to someone involved in the negotiations and was told it was true that Anthropologie folks were talking with Kress owners.
