Janisse Ray, author of “Ecology of a Cracker Childhood,” is among the many accomplished writers, musicians and artists featured April 19 at Heartstone’s Appalachian Celebration of Earth Day at Warren Wilson College. Heartstone is the journal of the college’s Environmental
Leadership Center.Free and open to the public, the evening of music, art, poetry and prose begins at 7:15 p.m. in Canon Lounge of the Gladfelter Student Center.
Janisse Ray will read from a piece she wrote for the Earth Day celebration. She will be joined at the event by noted writers Keith Flynn, Thomas Rain Crowe, Catherine Reid and Sebastian Matthews, all of

Man, I would just about give anything to be in NC on the 19th! Not just for Janisse Ray, but for the Heartstone’s Appalachian Celebration of Earth Day at Warren Wilson College itself.
