Here’s the link to WNCW’s annual list of the top 100 CDs of the year. The Avett Brother’s Second Gleam topped the list. Congratulations! To me, the record is a wonderfully quiet reflection.
Other records on the list really struck me this year. I love the Fleet Foxes record; I saw Abigail Washburn for the first time at AMJam and was so impressed that I ran out and bought her music; James McMurtry scares me, in a good way; I saw BB King at the Biltmore Estate Summer Concert Series and was awed to be in his very presence; Dehlia Low is getting noticed, but Ashvegas noticed first!; and Emmylou’s voice is truly the voice of an angel.
