WNC Student Showcase will highlight Asheville-area talent

On March 20th at 8 p.m. M– — USE, a performance art organization supporting local artists and businesses through art events presents the WNC Student Showcase at Club Eleven on Grove St. in downtown Asheville.

Over the last year, 11 local shows and 40+ acts, the M– — USE has developed a unique vaudevillian showcase event series that showcases unique artists and a “buy local” program where sponsors provide valuable offers for M– — USE patrons to redeem at their businesses. So, local prescient sponsors like Rosetta’s, Dripolator, The Rush, The Beacon PUB & Bistro, Vincenzo’s, Funny Business Comedy Club & MAIN.nc.us are not only supporting Asheville’s up-and-coming student talent, but Asheville-centric businesses as well.

The purchase of a $10 pass to the Showcase includes a coupon book worth over $100 in offers (mostly BUY1 – GET 1 FREE), an ALL AREA ACCESS PASS to Club Eleven, the Boiler Room & Scandals until 2 a.m. And you’re supporting student artists, helping them take their careers to the next level. All student artists receive professional audio & video recording of their performance, as well as, a professional headshot for their press kit/EPK.

The WNC Student Showcase features a broad range of talent from Warren Wilson, AB Tech, UNCA and Western in a vaudevillian-style show format. The line-up includes raucousness from Tasty Licks and Rocktopus, funk bands Pirate Jay and The Funk Messengers, local comedians Becca Steinhoff and Robin Ryder, multimedia visual talent and DJ Samuel Paradise, dancers, fashionistas and special musical guest performers. With over 15 acts performing short 20 minute sets, this event promises to be a unique, collaborative experience, embracing all artistries and the audience.
