From newarkadvocate.com:

The N.C. Education Lottery will have a new television station in Western North Carolina, WLOS-TV in Asheville, where lottery drawings will be aired each night.

Beginning March 28, lottery drawings will be shown on the WLOS 11 p.m. newscast.

“Many of our lottery players make it a habit to watch the drawings each night during breaks in the news to see if their lucky numbers come up,” said Alice Garland, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery.

The newscast will include the drawings for both of the NCEL’s multi-state games, Powerball and Mega Millions, as well as those for North Carolina games, Carolina Cash 5, Carolina Pick 4 and Carolina Pick 3.

I've lived in other cities and travel a lot and have seen a lot of local tv news broadcasts. I'd also rate WLOS news at the bottom of the barrel. It's pretty bad, even on its best news days.

Methinks Matt must never have left Asheville for a visit elsewhere, 'cause it gets a *lot* worse than News 13.

Another way to "dumb down" what already has to be one of the worst local newscasts in America. I'm sure Sinclair Broadcasting and WLOS really like this because it is an easy way to fill up time on a newscast. In local tv news, it doesn't get much worse than Channel 13 WLOS.
