There are several job openings listed on the WLOS web site, but the only ones we really care about are the on-air jobs. There are two listings – one for the station’s Waynesville bureau, and the other for an anchor/reporter to work the 5:30 show Monday through Friday.
We figured WLOSers would replace Russ “Beefacke Bowen, who was recently promoted to weekend anchor to replace Candice Little, who left to join hubby Scottie Too-Hottie Wickersham in Charlotte.
But the advertisement for the 5:30 anchor job comes as a bit of a surprise. What gives? Is Tallahasee Tammy Watford leaving? Is the station just looking to add someone else into the mix? What’s going on?

Maybe WLOS should consider hiring the editor who placed Don Knotts’ picture under the front page heading for the "LIVING" section. I know the news sometimes moves slowly here in the mountains, but if I’m not mistaken, ol’ Barn is dead as a doornail and had been for 3 or 4 days when the front page teaser appeared.
The TV equivalent:
"Live at 11 … Don Knotts dead!"

I thought Candycanes left? She did a live report last night (Tuesday) at 6:00.
I can’t say how happy I am that Hunky Beefcake Bowen will finally get to come in off that awful poarch to make his newscast. Remember when he stood in the street and they called it their Waynesville bureau? They must know something on the FCC to let these sorry newscasts go on.
Oh snap. TLC ain’t got no love for AssVegas.
-Kaboom! rumble, rumble, rumble… You got served.-
