With foreclosures at record levels, Asheville nonprofits team up with Town Mountain Realty to offer foreclosure prevention workshop

All but two of Western North Carolina’s counties are on track to record more foreclosures this year than last year. That’s an amazing statistic, and indicative of the sour national, state and local economies. So here’s important information from loyal reader Heather:

I need you to help me get the word out about a foreclosure seminar the Affordable Housing Coalition, Pisgah Legal, OnTrack, and other non-profits are putting on this coming Tuesday at Town and Mountain Training Center. 261 Asheland Ave 6-8pm. Refreshments and Childcare provided.

Here is the back story….

This last year, too many people lost their homes in the mountains because they didnt ask for help soon enough. For the first time, our real estate company started to receive calls by folks that had already been served by the Sheriff’s department. Some people we could help, many we could not. This heart-breaking reality has led the team at Town and Mountain Realty to join forces with the Affordable Housing Coalition to create a  foreclosure prevention workshop. Area non-profits, including Pisgah Legal and OnTrack, as well as folks from Raleigh will be here this coming Tuesday to help inform and prevent foreclosure.

If you know someone who is falling behind and can benefit, please pass this forward.

The fat lady is warming up on the train that left the station a long, long time ago.

I wonder, just a little, if this isn't about real estate leads… just sayin'

I think they are more than a little late in doing something like this.
