Press release here:
Throughout the month of June, Wink Heads and Threads is supporting the work of MANNA FoodBank.
Customers who bring in four cans of food from June 1-30 receive a 20-percent discount on any non-sale item in the boutique. All collected food will be donated to MANNA at the end of the month.
In addition, Wink is donating over twenty pairs of premium denim, J-Brand, Big Star and People’s Liberation for auction at the Blue Jean Ball, coming up on June 5. The Ball is MANNA’s largest and most important fundraising event of the year.
“The work that MANNA does in the community is so important and so needed,” said Gilda Santiago, co-owner of Wink. “We are really honored to be able to help them in their efforts. Our goal is to donate 400lbs of food.”
Founded in 1982, MANNA FoodBank collects, stores, warehouses and distributes food to accredited nonprofits that serve those facing hunger throughout 16 counties in Western North Carolina. Last year MANNA distributed 7.6 million pounds of food — enough to provide 17,350 meals, 365 days a year.
