What’s in the news: Fire at Planned Parenthood, rain and more

Share

The big news WLOS had on Sunday was that a fire damage Planned Parenthood on Biltmore Avenue. Kassandra Pride did the story. Nobody was hurt, some employees were scared and emergency officials over-reacted because Planned Parenthood operations have been targeted in the past, a fire official said, though he didn’t mention by whom. The fire likely started near the building’s furnace, Pride said. Kassandra noted that this Planned Parenthood does not perform abortions.

In other news, Sunday was dreary and rainy… Barak Obama visited John Edwards in Chapel Hill… WLOSers will have on the Asheville housing market at 11… The first Asheville Soundswap was held at the Grey Eagle… About 300 people ran in the Park Ridge Hospital Frostbite Run… And Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church celebrated its 80th anniversary Sunday.

It could just be an explosion in their furnace, but hey, you never know.

The extremist faction of the religious right never let a little thing like facts (as in this place doesn’t do abortions) stop them from violently opposing anything that isn’t in line with their beliefs.

When the bible said to turn the other cheek, they must have assumed it meant to "turn the other cheek..into a pipebomb and blow up a free clinic".

I heard on the scanner the Planned parenthood traffic and it cleary said explosion. I think WLOS is being cautious. There might be more to that story.
