What common values do the people of Asheville share? How are those values communicated through public policies? An Asheville-based firm called The Barrett Values Centre is going to help answer those questions through a public survey.

The We Are Asheville project will provide data on:
– The personal values of the people of Asheville
– How they see the culture of the community now
– The values they see as necessary in this community
Reports and charts featuring the overall results and various demographics, such as industry, neighborhood and political affiliation, will be published as community resources, with an exploratory session to support further understanding of our shared values.
The intention is for this data to be used by local government, organizations, community groups, and families in order to support their choices about the ways in which we live together and shape our community.
The anonymous survey will be available online through September. Results will be released in early November.
The three-question survey normally takes less than 15 minutes. The survey itself is not based in religious or political views.
