Press release here:

Students throughout Western North Carolina can get a leg up in the highly competitive college admissions market and the quest for strong scores on the SAT and ACT college exams by taking advantage of a free practice test being offered at the end of August. The A.C. Reynolds PTSO, in conjunction with Kaplan Test Prep, the nation’s oldest and largest provider of test preparation and admissions services, is offering a Free Combination Practice Test for SAT and ACT to all area high school students.  Students will have the opportunity to sample both tests in one sitting, and gauge their strengths and weaknesses on each test, on Saturday, August 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at A.C. Reynolds High School.

In addition to taking a free practice test under timed conditions that simulate the actual SAT or ACT administration, students will receive detailed feedback on their performance on each test, including an analysis of their strengths and weaknesses.

A $10 donation to PTSO covers the hosting of the exam.  Pre-registration for Kaplan’s practice tests is recommended, as seating is limited. Results will be provided days after the test directly from Kaplan to parents.
