West Asheville shop Whist to move a few doors down, expand on Haywood Road

Share

Here’s the announcement from loyal reader Russ. Whist is a fave of mine, a great shop for anyone looking for a fun gift, or great cards and pens and other knick-knacks. Congratulations to owners Nora and Damond!

As you know, Bethany Adams of Rhetorical Factory in the Mardis Building will be closing her retail business at the end of the year. We recently signed a lease with an existing business to take over that space in early 2016.

Whist, the greeting card and gift shop, will relocate from their current location at 428-A Haywood Road (neighboring building). This relocation is also an expansion for Whist, as they will grow from about 1,000 sf now to nearly 2,000 sf in Suite 102 in the Mardis Building. As of now, Whist plans to open their new, larger space in late February or early March.

Here’s a link for the Mardis Building: www.mardisbuilding.com.

Kind of surprising to see two empty stores in the same building now (Universal Motors Building) on Haywood Rd. That won’t last.

Thanks so much, Jason! We really appreciate all of your support.

Since opening in 2013, we’ve been so thankful for the response we’ve received from everyone here in Asheville. This spring we’ll move two doors down & expand to offer even more fun finds & great gifts. We’ll be at our current home through Valentine’s Day & make the switch some time after that.

Thanks to Russ for sending out the info!
