WCQS reported this morning that former U.S. Rep. Charles Taylor plans to sell 8,000 acres of Transylvania County property he owns to a land conservancy. The property is valued at between $55 and $66 million, and the land trust needs to raise about half that to buy the property.

The property apparently includes some amazing waterfalls and is beautiful. More details to come.

Good on him! Sincerely hope the conservancy can come up with the money.
