WCQS: Director of N.C. Center for Retirement is, well, retiring

Share

WCQS recently broke the news that Ron Manheimer, the director North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement, is retiring.

That’s kinda funny, but it’s also big news. Manheimer is an internationally renowned expert on retirement and creativity in later life, and he’s built up the Center for Creative Retirement into an amazing hub of expertise and classes for retirees. The award-winning, acclaimed center is now housed in its own building on the campus of UNC Asheville. As the U.S. population ages, this center and its offerings will only grow in stature.

The transition from Manheimer to a new director will be a big deal. Wonder who’ll be interested in the job.

Please Ponder why two leaders "retired" from NCCCR at the same time. It is not only Ron M who is leaving . . . where’s the full inquiry into this story?

I don’t think Dr Manheimer was given much time to Ponder the decision to retire.

They have a good thing going over there at UNCA. They used to be upstairs above the art studios. We starving artists would sometimes go up there and sneak out sandwiches leftover after one of their events. Good people!
