Warren Haynes, Asheville’s most famous rocker, has been all up in the news over at Pollstar.com. Haynes will be in Asheville in December for his annual Warren Haynes Christmas Jam, which raises money for Habitat for Humanity.
First, Haynes has been helping raise money for presidential candidate Barack Obama. Haynes plays with the Allman Brothers:
In an event that could easily be described as “An Evening with The Grateful Brothers or The Allman Dead,” members of both iconic bands will come together to perform a benefit concert for Sen. Barack Obama.
Change Rocks: A Concert to Benefit Obama for America is scheduled to take place October 13 at Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Penn.
Then there’s this, about Haynes’ other band, Gov’t Mule:
Jam-band fave Gov’t Mule has emerged from “six months of rehearsing, jamming and hanging out” with a new bass player, Jorgen Carlsson, and is ready to hit the road for a fall trek.
The Kinder Revolution Tour kicks off October 30 at Flynn Theatre in Burlington, Vt., and wraps with a pair of shows December 30-31 at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom.
