The VA announced on Tuesday it had awarded North Carolina $24.2 million to build two 100-bed facilities in Kinston and Swannanoa. The funds come from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The grants will cover 65 percent of the total cost.
Swannanoa was approved for $13.5 million and Kinston for $10.7 million.
