US Web Talk Radio in Asheville making a splash

Richard Bernier of Asheville is a hard-working political activist and Web entrepreneur who has been all over the place, from posting his YouTube video interviews with local Republicans to helping create a Sarah-Palin-for-president web site that made a splash recently.

Now Richard, a former classmate of mine waaay back in the day, is involved another venture called US Web Talk Radio. I think he may be on to something. If you know of somebody who wants to launch an Internet radio show, contact Richard.

Here’s the press release he sent me:

One of America’s leading interviewers, Vin Smith is proud to announce that The Midnight Bookworm, Vin Smith family of radio shows has moved to the leading Internet provider of radio programming, U. S. Web Talk Radio…

U. S. Web Talk Radio, out of Ashville, North Carolina, has quickly built a track record as the company to watch in the fast growing field of Internet radio. In a day and age when terrestrial stations—both AM and FM—are shrinking, and satellite radio has proved to be too expensive to operate profitably, Vin Smith was looking for a way to make it possible for authors to get their messages out to a large audience, in spite of the sea change going on in broadcasting.

“The real key to The Midnight Bookworm family of shows, is the top-flight talent that we get on the show,” said Smith recently. “With our unique three-shows-in-one format, we can cover the entire spectrum of published books, while also covering other forms of information and entertainment.”

The one-of-a-kind format features the kick off first hour, called Goddess Radio. Vin’s co-host is popular former figure skater, turned empowerment coach, motivational speaker and radio/TV host, Panney Wei. Wei brings a wealth of experience to women’s issues. Her private practice involves sorting out problems—for men as well as women—and finding solutions to lifestyle issues.

The second hour is the original show in the trio of offerings. Midnight Bookworm Books and Entertainment. Vin’s co-host is Las Vegas uber agent, Bruce Merrin, now celebrating 36 years with Bruce Merrin Public Relations, and the company inside the company, Bruce Merrin’s Celebrity Speakers and Entertainment Bureau. Bruce has booked all ex-presidents since Ronald Reagan, and a virtual Who’s Who of movers and shakers in every industry for platform speaking performances and entertainment revues that have garnered rave reviews.

The third hour of the radio trilogy is Beyond the Paranormal. Vin found small town journalist Brad Smith (no relation) and offered him a guest spot concerning a story Brad had written about a flying saucer sighting in Northern California. That led to a regular appearance as a paranormal investigator on BtP, and eventually Brad changed his day job as small town journalist to full-time paranormal investigator for American Paranormal Investigations (API) in Sacramento.
