Update on Haywood Road action in West Asheville: Cowboy’s Nitelife to become social club, and Nona Mia adding a location on the same block

Here’s the latest, from loyal reader Amy:

Hey Jason,

So I heard tell that the Cowboy Nitelife (which looks so much better than it did a couple of months ago) is going to be a “social club”. I also heard that the owners of Nona Mia are moving in on the same block and opening a coffee/pizza/beer/gelato place in addition to the regular place down on Patton. Look for me to gain 50 pounds immediately thereafter.

I don’t get it. Why another pizza place? And with coffee? I like Nona Mia, but come on. First Standard Pizza, and now this place? So Digable is the pioneer and now two places are taking a slice (pun slightly intended) out of their business? It would make more sense for Nona Mia to get out of that crappy strip mall on Patton and move their whole operation to Haywood.
