Most folks who keep track of the Asheville music scene know that Molly Rose Reed and Eleanor Underhill, formerly of the Barrel House Mamas, have formed a new group called Underhill Rose. I haven’t yet heard Underhill Rose, but if it’s starring these two talented ladies, I know they’re going to be successful.
Here’s more from Molly, also a loyal blog reader:
Hi Jason,
Molly here from the Mamas and now Underhill Rose. I just wanted to invite you and yours, and hopefully your loyal Ashevegas readers to our show this Thursday, April 1st. I’m a big fan of being a fool – been one my whole life, for better or for worse- so why not have a great show in honor of April Fool’s Day?!?
We are really looking forward to sharing our new sound, with a totally fabulous backing band. Gary Oliver, our trusty upright bassist, Tim Haney (drums) from Stephanie’s ID, and Ryan Burns (keys) and Debrissa McKinney (vox) from Josh Phillips Folk Festival will be gracing the stage that night. Big Al Hall and the Marching Rams will open. They’re our friends from Wilmington.
Thank you so much for posting our videos on your blog, and keeping up with what we’ve been putting out there. You are a great support to our community!
Take Care,
Molly

I liked them better when it was the Barrel House mamas. They had more of a stage presence.
I heard them on Local Color and was like, WOW. Molly, is there a cover?
Saw them at PerformancePEAK Live a few weeks ago.
Incredible.
Their sultry songs of heartbreak make a man want to apologize on behalf of his whole gender for the chumps dumb enough to treat these sirens so wrong.
