It’s coming up on the one-year anniversary of the Lexington Avenue Brewery, and that means it’s just time to pause and take stock. It’s pretty clear that, despite the fact that it’s one of the newer breweries on the Beer City USA scene here in Asheville, this one is here to stay.
It took the owners nearly two years to get the building on the corner of Lexington and Walnut renovated and the brew pub operation up and running. (The building, the former home of the lovely T.S. Morrison toy store, also houses condos and a hostel, Sweet Peas Hostel, above the restaurant/bar/music room operation.) But it was clearly worth the wait.
The LAB has a top-notch chef who keeps a tasty, creative menu. And it is producing quality beers, for which Asheville is known. It’s white ale has probably become the signature of the LAB, but all its offerings are great.
The word is that the LAB crew is working on big plans for even more greatness. Can’t wait to hear what they have in mind.
