Brenda’s doctor says the baby has cranial bleeding. Diagnosis doesn’t sound good. Ruth is at her bedside. Ruth tells her not to worry.
Claire, in bed, as a naked Ted walks in. We see his bare butt. “It’s just eating fruit salad with a nake frat boy who voted for George Bush,” Claire says, freaking out a bit. They’re listening to Christian music.
Claire tells Ted she had an abortion. He says he sort of paid for one, so it’s OK.
Claire: “God, I feel like I’m trapped under water.” She still wants to be an artist, she says, but she’s scared she may not be good enough. She doesn’t want to go back to school. Ted tells her to keep working on it.
They kiss. “Maybe I should take pictures of you naked,” she laughs. He says OK, as long as you don’t post them on the Internet.
