Here’s some of what’s going around about downtown Asheville:
-End of downtown toy story? Is the downtown children’s toy store Enviro Depot closed? That’s what some people on Twitter are wondering. The storefront on Broadway is closed.
-New restaurant: There’s a new restaurant coming to Battery Park Avenue. It’s going to feature Indian street food, and it’s going in at the old Uptown Cafe, which then became some dive called Joe’s or something. Anyway, the new Indian place will feature tasty Indian food, only fast-food style. It will be called something like “Chai Panni.”
-Speaking of Indian restaurants: There’s a rumor going around that the India Palace restaurant, which used to operate on Tunnel Road, is looking to move into the former Kosta’s clothing store on the corner of Battery Park Avenue and Page Avenue. Anybody got deets?
-LAB: The Lexington Avenue Brewery has a slick web site up, in case you haven’t seen it. Looks like there’s still a lot of work to be done before that place opens.
-Up on the roof: The new Magnetic Field venue is down in the River Arts District, not downtown, but I wanted to include a tidbit I picked up recently. The bar-slash-theater venue is going to feature a rooftop terrace, too. Sweet.
