TEDxAsheville last year showcased local people with “ideas worth spreading.” The evening of talks and entertainment at the Orange Peel was a ton of fun, and folks may have learned something along the way.
The team that organized the event kept meeting, and came up with a great idea: how about a TEDx event that showcases our talented young people? Thus was born TEDxNextGenerationAsheville, which is scheduled for Aug. 28 and will spotlight Western North Carolina’s most creative, inspiring young people. Just like a regular TED talk, they’ll deliver an interactive, multimedia talk. In this case, they’ve got 18 minutes to explain their “idea worth spreading.”
You have until April 1 to help TEDxNextGenerationAsheville find these young leaders and get them nominated. The organization is also looking for young people to be part of the organizing team. So – nominations will be accepted through April 1, and applications will be accepted through May 1. Click here to get involved.
Meantime, planning is continuing for the 2010 version of TEDxAsheville. There’s an open call for videographers out right now.
