From bluegrassblog.com, yesterday. The Steep Canyon Rangers hail from Brevard:

Tonight’s (5/11) poetry celebration at the White House, which will include an appearance by Steve Martin and Steep Canyon Rangers, will be broadcast live online.

Rangers’ banjo man Graham Sharp told us that they were asked to perform an arrangement they created with Martin of an Auden poem set to bluegrass.

This event will be hosted in the East Room by both the President and First Lady, and President Obama is expected to deliver remarks.

According to local musician expert Don Talley's Facebook – who I think was at the event? – he said that as the musicians were leaving the stage the President mentioned something about hoping to see them again soon in Asheville.
