Story from the Fayatteville Observer:
North Carolina’s coming smoking ban remains on track to put hookah bar owners out of the smoking business.
An effort to protect the hookah bars was snuffed out last week, a state lawmaker said.
A hookah is a water pipe used to smoke flavored tobacco. According to The Fayetteville Feed online magazine, Fayetteville has three bars offering hookah pipes and their flavored tobaccos.
Beginning Jan. 2, the statewide smoking ban will prohibit smoking of all tobacco products in restaurants and bars. There is an exemption for cigar bars. We’re not sure if the smoking ban extends to vaporizers such as Juul Pods and brands.
