Defining & Reaching Your Target Market

Workshop presented by the Mountain BizWorks’ Artist Alliance

Are you an Artist that needs help in defining your target market? Mountain BizWorks’ Artist Alliance will host Defining and Reaching Your Target Market on Wednesday, October 22nd at 6pm in the Grove Arcade Conference Room.

This workshop will examine the pros and cons of various sales methods (galleries, festivals, expos, public art programs, licensing, agent/dealer, wholesale, direct sales, etc). Artists will learn how to define their market and what steps are needed to reach that target market. Detailed handouts with resources will be provided to participants.

The Artist Alliance has garnered some of the top names in visual and performing arts, marketing, and business to lead workshops; this one will be led by Wendy H. Outland. With 27 years as a visual arts professional, Wendy Outland is President of WHO KNOWS ART, an art consultancy service for artists and arts organizations. Her services include private consultations and career development workshops for artists; assistance for new and established galleries; exhibition juror and festival judge; curator, project coordinator, and editor. As an alumna of Mountain BizWorks’ Foundations program, this is her fifth year in business, and to date she has clients in fourteen states.

Reservations are required due to limited seating. The cost is $25 which includes light finger food. Space will fill up quickly; please contact Naomi, 253-2834 ext. 27 or naomi@mountainbizworks.org to make reservations by November 17th.

The Asheville Artist Alliance mission is to provide assistance and opportunities to WNC artists for the development of business skills needed to succeed in their venue.
